about
Following the BBC Radio 6 Music played singles ‘Neon’ and ‘Fire On The Moon’, London’s Desert Ships announce the release of new single ‘Watching the World Stop’ on Friday 19th August 2022.
The storming new single, speeds along like a NYC subway express train, soundtracking the tale of one man’s desire to escape through his roof from the mad times that surround us. It’s laden with hooks and never overstays its welcome. Blink and you’ll miss it.
Mikey Buckley (vocals/guitars/keys) handles the production duties gloriously and with Daniel McLean (bass) and Claude Trejonis (drums/vocals), they blend garage rock, dream pop and neo-psychedelia to create their own sci-fi blues.
Rapturous scenes at their recent Paper Dress Vintage concert confirmed that “Desert Ships are a fantastic band that deliver groovy, hypnotic tunes” (Music Is To Blame).
The accompanying video is the third instalment of the Gil De Ray directed series, featuring the return of the characters from deserted exile.
Mastered by Tim Turan (Supergrass, Killing Joke), ‘Watching the World Stop’ is available to stream/download on Friday 19th August 2022.
